Director of Children's Ministry
Rod started on staff at Northgate in June of 2014. He is married to Charlene and has two beautiful daughters, a roommate named Edie and a dog named Jewel. Yes, a house full of ladies keeps him in line! He enjoys cooking, especially on the BBQ, having friends over and hanging out with the kids! Rod is excited to see what God can do in a child’s life and has seen the Holy Spirit work in the life of his own kids. Children are our future and it is his passion to help them build a solid spiritual foundation that can be set for the rest of their life.

Coordinator of Congregation Life
Marlene is mother of two adult children and 'grandma' to three grandchildren. She's been married to Frank for 40+ years and has worked at Northgate for more than 20 of those years. She loves her work at Northgate because she gets to share her journey with many people. Meeting new people as well as getting together with old friends, is always a hi-light. Being involved in the lives of her grandchildren makes this time of her life extra special. Reading, going on walks, baking and spending time with family are also some of her favorite things.

Community Outreach Intern
Essi Deheer is super excited to be a part of the church team as a Community Outreach Intern! At a young age, God placed a passion in Essi to reach the unreached, and ESL is an amazing tool that both helps newcomers integrate into Canada as well as build a bridge so that they may one day know Christ. With a Bachelor's in Intercultural Studies from Vanguard College, she hopes to utilize different strategies learned to help us reach our surrounding communities, through love and opportunity. She is thankful to be here!
